ERIN, MOM OF 2, PELVIC FLOOR PHYSICAL THERAPIST, CROSSFIT ATHLETE & COACH

I sought Dr. Barrington out after having had my second child and being fairly convinced that maybe children meant a) being afraid of dynamic movement forever and b) never really getting back to the level of athleticism I had before babies. I should also say that this was even more depressing because I was a Pelvic Floor PT, had been through multiple bouts of Pelvic Floor PT and regular PT along with many different types of manual therapy (chiro, acupuncture, massage, etc.) and I could never shake moving with fear, a lack of understanding surrounding my pain and movement limitations, and generally not being as fit or as capable for life as I had hoped to be.

My entrance into working with Meghan was fairly simple: a physical assessment, thorough discussion surrounding my goals and history, and then I started a program. That program however, ended up being life-changing. I am almost back to my previous levels of strength with LESS days and time spent training. I feel more empowered than ever to take my wellness and injury prevention into my own hands. This has trickled over into my practice as a clinician and as a coach. I have been able to return to Olympic Weightlifting and high-level gymnastics skills which were all a goal of mine. I have been able to engage with my kids without fear! I have felt so supported and encouraged along the way, and I don’t even feel like Meghan is aware of the impact she has had on my life.

More recently I also had the pleasure of working with Meghan on refining my nutrition as I simply was not taking in enough to fuel my new level of activity and I wanted to stay ahead of any fatigue or weakness this might cause. She sent over a comprehensive, easy-to-follow plan and provided just the right amount of accountability to help me succeed.

One of my favorite things about working with Dr. Barrington aside from my progress has been that I am NEVER bored because she is so incredibly creative. I get very excited for new cycles! Along with creativity, there is also a nice distribution of strength, mobility, power and balance development, and conditioning woven throughout all of her programs. Speaking as a person in the industry, it is often very hard to strike that balance and I think, among many other things, she does this exceptionally well.
